About Botulinum Toxin
Anti-wrinkle injections, also known as Botulinum Toxin injections, are a popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. They work by temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles to form on the skin. The effects of Botulinum Toxin are reversible and will typically wear off within 3-6 months depending on the individual.

Landmark Approach
When carrying out your procedure, I will use a landmark approach. Landmarks of safety are used to avoid complications by ensuring that the correct muscles are targeted. These landmarks can be slightly adjusted in accordance with desired outcomes, however are in place to ensure that complications do not occur. We can discuss this further in your appointment.
Aftercare Advice:
• Remain upright and exercise the injected muscles periodically for the first 4 hours post procedure to increase the uptake of the Botulinum Toxin
• Refrain from wearing make-up in the first 6 hours after procedure
• Refrain from drinking alcohol or exercising in the first 24 hours
• Avoid steam rooms / sauna / sunbathing for first 48 hours
• Must not undergo any chemical peels / facial treatments for the first 2 weeks
• Optimal results are within 2 weeks – aftercare appointment at this point is advised to review your results.

I offer local anaesthetic cream to all client’s pre-procedure to make you feel as comfortable as possible. This should reduce any discomfort caused by the injections within the procedure.
As with any procedure there can be risks. Common risks include: bruising, swelling & bleeding – this is minor and usually around the site of injection and will subside. Rare complications can include: headaches & dry eyes. Very rare complications may include visual disturbances & hypersensitivity reactions, however this is avoidable through my landmark technique and pre-procedure screening.
You will notice your results within 2 weeks – at this time I will arrange a follow-up appointment to review your results.
