Skin boosters are an injectable Hyaluronic Acid which aims to improve the overall appearance and quality of the skin. Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring substance in the skin which helps attract and retain moisture, however as we age, our ability to retain Hyaluronic Acid and Collagen decreases from the age of 30 by 1% per year. Minor discomfort may be felt due to the nature of needles used to inject the product into the skin, however numbing cream will be applied to reduce any discomfort that may be felt.

Skin boosters typically pose a low risk of potential side effects. However, some common side effects may include bruising, or small, red, localised bumps appearing at the injection point. These side effects are normal and generally subside within four to six hours. Infection is always a risk to any injectable treatment, though reduced with infection prevention measures within procedure and appropriate aftercare advice given.
